Unified Modeling Language

The unified modelling language (UML) is a general-purpose visual modelling language that is intended to provide a standard way to visualize the design of a system. UML provides a standard notation for many types of diagrams which can be roughly divided into three main groups: behavior diagrams, interaction diagrams, and structure diagrams. The creation of UML was originally motivated by the desire to standardize the disparate notational systems and approaches to software design.

Integrated Development Environment

An integrated development environment (IDE) is a software application that provides comprehensive facilities for software development. An IDE normally consists of at least a source-code editor, build automation tools, and a debugger. Some IDEs, such as IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse and Lazarus contain the necessary compiler, interpreter or both; others, such as SharpDevelop, NetBeans do not. The boundary between an IDE and other parts of the broader software development environment is not well-defined.

Read Eval Print Loop

A read–eval–print loop (REPL), also termed an interactive top-level or language shell, is a simple interactive computer programming environment that takes single user inputs, executes them, and returns the result to the user; a program written in a REPL environment is executed piecewise. Common examples include command-line shells and similar environments for programming languages, and the technique is very characteristic of scripting languages.
